I write magazine articles on furniture building, cabinetmaking and woodworking for American Woodworker, American Woodturner, Woodshop News and several other magazines. I was the editor of Woodworker's Journal, and have authored several books including the Woodworker's Guide to Sharpening (Fox Chapel), and Bench Planes & Scrapers (Linden). During the academic year, I teach individual and group classes at the Black Hills School of Woodworking (bhsw.org) in South Dakota.
